GPSR compliance: your Responsible Person in the EU
The General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988 applies since December 2024 to nearly all consumer products. It requires an EU-based Responsible Person, incident reporting and enhanced traceability. Marketplaces such as Amazon and Zalando require proof of GPSR compliance before products go live.
Legal framework
Regulation (EU) 2023/988 replaced the General Product Safety Directive. Manufacturers established outside the EU may only place consumer products on the market if a Responsible Person established in the EU is named on the product or packaging.
