GPSR language requirements by EU country
GPSR language requirements by EU country: who sets the language, what national law demands in seven member states and what your online listing needs.
We check what belongs on your product, its packaging, its manual and your online listing, and in which languages. You keep control of your texts; we tell you what each market requires and review your files before you print.

Your box, rating plate and manual were designed for customers at home. In Europe, the manufacturer and your EU contact each need their details in the right place, safety information has to be in the language each target country requires, and your listing must repeat it.
Type, batch or serial number and the manufacturer's name, postal and electronic address go on the product, or on packaging or documents if not possible.
Your EU economic operator's name and contact details go on the product, its packaging, the parcel or an accompanying document.
GPSR Responsible PersonInstructions and safety information must be in a language consumers easily understand, as determined by each member state where you sell.
Online offers name the manufacturer and your EU contact, identify the product with a picture and show its warnings in the local language.
We work within the agreed scope and mandate; you stay responsible for your product, its labels and the content of your instructions.
Talk to our teamFor each product, we list which details go on the product, packaging, manual and listing, by role and by market.
We tell you which language each target country requires for instructions, safety information and listing warnings.
We review artwork, rating plates, manuals and warnings against the rules that apply and list what to change.
We check your online offers for manufacturer, EU contact, product identification and warnings.
Where agreed, we organize translations of instructions and safety information into the languages you need.

Usually not. The GPSR leaves the language to each member state where you sell, and several have set one: Germany, for example, requires German for instructions, safety information and the warnings in your online offer. Plan the languages by target market, not one manual for everyone.
Not for products under the GPSR. Digital information is allowed only in addition to the instructions, safety information and contact details that come with the product, not instead of them.
Legally yes: the GPSR allows the product, its packaging, the parcel or an accompanying document. In practice, the parcel is thrown away first and does not follow the product through returns or resale, so we recommend the sales packaging.
Great Britain has its own rules. For consumer products, the General Product Safety Regulations 2005 ask for the producer's name and address and a product reference on the product or its packaging, unless that is not reasonable. For UKCA or CE products, instructions must be in English. Northern Ireland applies the EU GPSR.
Under the Packaging Regulation, packaging carries a harmonized label on its material composition from 12 August 2028, or 24 months after the Commission's implementing acts if that is later. E-commerce packaging is included; other transport packaging is not.

GPSR safety warnings come from your risk analysis, not a list: what Article 9(7) requires, where warnings go, which language applies, with examples.

GPSR label requirements by role: where manufacturer, importer and Responsible Person details go on product, packaging, parcel or listing, with legal basis.

We go through one product with you and show what each market expects on the label, in the manual and in your listing.
