A launch or a new product is planned, and some rules are about to change, such as the EU Machinery Regulation from 20 January 2027. You need to know what to do first, who does it and by when.
Consumer products and most CE-marked products need an economic operator established in the EU before they are placed on the market.

From 20 January 2027. Machinery placed on the market under the Machinery Directive before that date can still be sold. Each unit placed on the market from that day must meet Regulation (EU) 2023/1230.
Regulation (EU) 2025/2509 applies from 1 August 2030. Toys placed on the market under Directive 2009/48/EC before that date can still be sold. New duties include a digital product passport for each toy model.
It can. The GPSR covers products that consumers are likely to use, even if not intended for them (Article 3(1) GPSR). If your distributors resell to private buyers, the product will usually be covered. Products used only by professionals are outside the GPSR.
