Packaging, electrical equipment and batteries bring extended producer responsibility (EPR) in every country where you are the producer. We work out with you where that is, who registers and what you report.

You sell from your own shop or on marketplaces and send parcels to customers in several EU countries or the UK. Each box, device and battery can make you the producer there, with registration, reporting and contributions in each country.
EPR is organized country by country.
Selling packaged goods from abroad directly to end users in an EU country makes you the producer there, with registration and an EPR representative.
Each EU country keeps a WEEE producer register. Distance sellers register where they sell; Germany requires a representative if you have no establishment there.
Batteries, also those inside devices, need producer registration in each country. Direct distance sellers appoint an authorized representative for EPR in each country.
UK packaging EPR obligates businesses established in the UK, such as your importer or, if you sell from abroad on an online marketplace, its operator.

Only where you are the producer. If you sell packaged goods directly to end users in an EU country where you are not established, the PPWR requires an authorized representative for EPR there. If an EU importer or retailer buys your goods and resells them in its own country, it is usually the producer there. Member states may also require a representative from all producers outside the EU.
Not automatically. The Authorized Representative under product law and the authorized representative for EPR are different roles with different tasks, even within the same regulation. One company can take on both, but each role needs a written mandate that covers it.
Yes. The Batteries Regulation includes batteries incorporated in appliances. If you sell such devices by distance contract directly to end users in an EU country where you are not established, you register there and appoint an authorized representative for EPR. This has applied since 18 August 2025.
A business established in the UK, usually your UK importer or, if you sell from abroad on an online marketplace, its operator. With a UK branch, warehouse or postal address, you count as established yourself. Obligations apply above thresholds of 25 tonnes of packaging a year and 1 million pounds annual turnover.
